The other day, I was on a mission to find out how to wear a jean shirt without looking like this. Object achieved? Sort of. Anyway, while on my mission I found several great websites, one of which I want to show you today. It's called "Out of Print Clothing" and they screen print book covers from out of print editions of classic books on to tee shirts for men, women and children.

I think that they are beautiful, and each shirt ($28) also gets a book donated to a community in Africa. Yeah, it's a little pricey for a tee, but I say divide it in half because you're getting a tee and a theoretical book for some person who doesn't have any ($14 shirt/ $14 book).

And well, if you aren't a tee shirt person, there are iphone 4 cases ($35) or kindle/nook/ipad cases ($40+) too. Yeah, the cases also get a book donated.

Birthday present? Haha.

Books on shirts. Shirts on a mission.

Out of Print celebrates the world’s great stories through fashion. Our shirts feature iconic and often out of print book covers. Some are classics, some are just curious enough to make great t-shirts, but all are striking works of art.

We work closely with artists, authors and publishers to license the content that ends up in our collections. Each shirt is treated to feel soft and worn like a well-read book.

In addition to spreading the joy of reading through our tees, we acknowledge that many parts of the world don't have access to books at all. We are working to change that. For each shirt we sell, one book is donated to a community in need through our partner Books For Africa.

How we read is changing as we move further into the digital age. It's unclear what the role of the book cover will be in this new era, but we feel it's more important than ever to reflect on our own individual experiences with great literary art before it's forever changed.

They have men's/women's tee shirts ($28) from:
"The Great Gatsby" (2 shirts actually), "The Sun also Rises," "A Clockwork Orange," Edgar Allen Poe pop art, "The Origin of Species," "Catcher in the Rye," "Moby Dick," "To Kill a Mockingbird," "A Brave New World," "Slaughterhouse Five," "Fahrenheit 451," "Animal Farm," "The Outsiders," "Where the Red Fern Grows," "Walden," "On the Road," "Hound of the Baskervilles," "Atlas Shrugged," "Tales of the Jazz Age," "Lolita," "Master and Margarita," "1984," and "Lord of the Flies"...
